Mr. Grant Boyd Spears, 39, of 77 Fiddlers Drive, Hartwell, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Emory University Hospital of Cancer complications.He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Grant was born August 8, 1979 at Anderson Memorial Hospital, Anderson SC.Grant was a long haul driver for Henry & Henry Trucking Company.Grant was an avid lover of dirt track and go-kart racing and of the Baptist faith, attending the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

Grant is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Dianne Spears of Hartwell; one brother, Greg Spears of Hartwell; several aunt and uncles, cousins and friends also survive.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jessie "J.B." and Corrine "Pet" Bridges and his paternal grandparents, H.C. and Elizabeth Spears.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Grant will be Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Jason Webb officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.The following men will serve as pallbearers: Benji Cole, Paul Dodd, Carey Craft, Blake Craft, Rusty Jordan and Nathan Royston.

Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
