Mr. Gregory Lee Kay, 60, of Hartwell, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at his home.

Born on March 4, 1961 in Aiken, SC, he was the son of Lanelle Adams Kay and the late Charles Lamar Kay, Sr. Mr. Kay was a construction superintendent with The Proscape Group. He was also a member of the Bethany Baptist Church where he served as the chairman of the Deacons and Sunday School Director.

Survivors include his mother: Lanelle Kay of Hartwell; wife: Beth Brown Kay; daughter: Laura Beth Simpson (Joshua) of Hartwell; brother: Chuck Kay of Hartwell; and two grandchildren: Braylon and Matthew Simpson, both of Hartwell. Mr. Kay is preceded in death by his father and one granddaughter: Emma Kayte Simpson.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mr. Greg Kay will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church with Revs. Jerry Durham and Luther Thomason officiating.Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church, 2085 Bethany-Bowersville Hwy, Canon, GA 30520.
