Ms. Gussie Mae Dyer Mabry, 88, of Nancy Drive, Hartwell, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson.

Born on June 22, 1928 in Elberton, GA, she was the daughter of the late James M. Dyer and Permelia Lowe Dyer.Ms. Mabry was owner and operator of The Primpers Salon for over 40 years and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell.

Survivors include two sons: Danny Mabry (Lisa) of Canon, Michael Mabry of Hartwell; one daughter: Jan Young (Dusty) of Westminster, SC; two brothers: J.D. Dyer, Royce Dyer both of Hartwell; six grandchildren: Scott Mabry (Jodi), Kayla Mabry, Morgan Young, Allie Young, Taylor Mabry, Austin Mabry; four great-grandchildren: Johannah Mabry, Brianna Mabry, Kabil Carey, and Kaine Carey.Ms. Mabry was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Otho Mabry, Jr.; one brother: Eugene Dyer; and two sisters: Lucille Lovern and Lonnie Belle Isom.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Thomas Maxwell officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.The family is at the home of Danny and Lisa Mabry, 167 New Hope Ext. Road, Canon, GA.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, in memory of Gussie Mabry and in honor of Austin Mabry, 1687 Tullie Circle NE, Atlanta, GA 30329.
