Mrs. Gwendolyn Rice Poole, 77, of Eagle Grove School Road, Dewy Rose, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Elbert Memorial Hospital.
Born on July 29, 1938 in Dewy Rose, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Alphus Rice and Lila Mize Rice.Mrs. Poole was retired from BASF and co-owner and bookkeeper of Farm Touch.Upon retirement she worked as a CNA at Hartwell Health Care and Magnolia Estates and was a former Pink Lady at Ty Cobb.She was a member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons: William Poole and his wife Cindy of Dewy Rose, Kevin Poole and his wife Caroline of Hartwell; two daughters: Vernette Friedrichs and her husband Bill of Hoschton,Laura Mize and her husband Lyndon of Royston; six grandchildren: Brent Mize & Rebecca, Gale Kinder & Richard, Ashley Poole & Crystal, Jeremy Poole & Julia, Taylor Poole and Brent Moon; ten great-grandchildren: Abby Kinder, Ben Kinder, Ella Kinder, Wyatt Mize, Kassi Mize, Hunter Poole, Gracie Poole, Praythan Poole, Kale Kurtz, and Camdyn Kurtz; one sister: Patricia Shaw of Canon.Mrs. Poole was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Verner Poole; one brother: John A. Rice; four sisters: Betty Bagwell, Billie Ann McCorbey, Frances Legg, and Sara Jo Foro.
Memorial services will be Sunday, January 24, 2016, at 3:00 pm at the Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Martin officiating.
