Mrs. Gwenell S. Fowler Harper, age 76 of 45 Pineview Lane, Hartwell Ga., died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Athens Regional Medical Center
Born on November 24, 1929 in Stephens Co. GA, she was the daughter of the late Garnett E. Fowler and Lucy A. Segars Fowler.She retired from NAPA of Charleston WV as an Order Clerk and was a former member of the Charleston Motorcycle Club, Charleston WV. She was a member of the Milltown Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband: Roy L. Harper Sr. of the home; a daughter: Judy Lawson and her husband Wayne of Lavonia; a son: Roy L. Harper Jr. of Florida; a brother: Morris Fowler of Carrollton GA; two sisters: Mozelle Starcher of Lavonia and Gladys Bohannan of Antreville SC; four grandchildren: Scott Lawson, Lindsey Lawson, Sara Harper and Amanda Chastain and her husband Brandon; a daughter-in-law: Susan Harper of Canon and a sister-in-law: Dollie Steele of Hartwell.She was like a mother to a niece: Pam Christian of Atlanta and a grandmother to: Natasha Waldrop of Atlanta.She was loved and survived by many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; a son: Roger Lee Harper; four brothers: Bill Fowler, Doyle Fowler, Dwayne Fowler and Wendell Fowler and two sisters: Rosetta Guilliam and Dorothy Simmons.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ken Brewer officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home – Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday night.The family is at the home of Wayne and Judy Lawson, Southern Oaks, Corner of Baker St. and Hwy 17N, Lavonia GA.
