Mr. Hugh Waymon Sartain, 71, of 1964 Royston Hwy., Hartwell, GA, died Thursday, May 06, 2010 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born January 31, 1939 in Danielsville, GA, he was the son of the late Doyle Sartain and Lerlin Carey Sartain.He was a retired Salesman for Lance, Inc.He was a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church; a Deacon; Trustee and served on various church committees.He was also a member of Tokeena Beagle Club.

He is survived by:Wife, Doris Harder Sartain of Hartwell; Daughter, Glenda Gibson and her husband Brian of Hartwell, GA; Stepdaughters, Laura Brummett of Toledo, OH, and Deloris Barnes of Pell City, AL; Brothers, Glenn Sartain of Danielsville, GA and Mitchell Sartain of Colbert, GA; Grandchild, Dustin Gibson and Three step grandchildren, Tawni Brummett, Amber Brummett and Jeremy Barnes.He is preceded in death by his Parents and his first wife, Mary Sue Martin Sartain.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Abundant Life Baptist Church.Rev. Ken Brewer and Rev. Lonnie Bennett will officiate.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Friday night from 6 – 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home of Brian and Glenda Gibson, 67 Idlewood Acres, Hartwell, GA.In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter, 870 Bear Creek Road, Lavonia, GA30553 or Hart County Humane Society, P.O.
