Hal Burroughs's Obituary

Mr. Hal Ray Burroughs, age 70, of Lavonia, died Monday, September 26, 2011 at his home.
Born October 23, 1940, in Franklin County, he was the son of Virginia (Vaughn) Burroughs and the late Ferd Ray Burroughs. He was a farmer and member of the Cattleman's Association, Georgia Farm Bureau, and the Young Famers Association. Mr. Burroughs was a veteran of the National Guard. He was a member of New Franklin Christian Church, where he served as an Elder.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son: Timothy Norris.
He is survived by his wife: Sandra (Bradley) Burroughs of the home; daughter and son-in-law: Rhonda & Elbert Nichols of Lavonia; sister and brother-in-law: Gail & Dennis Adams of Lavonia; and grandchildren: JoAnna Esco, Joseph Bennett, Christopher Norris, and Logan Norris.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to New Franklin Christian Church, 4244 New Franklin Christian Church Road, Canon, GA 30520.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at New Franklin Christian Church with Pastor Carl Beckham and Pastor Dennis Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
