Mr. Harold Wallace Doster, Sr, 90, of Athens Street, Hartwell, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Hart Care Center.

Born on August 11, 1924 in Mooresville, NC, he was the son of the late John E. Doster and Bessie King Doster.He was a manager of the Hartwell Golf Course where he taught scores of people golf lessons and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell. He was a World War II US Navy veteran where he served on the USS Ranger.

Survivors include his wife:Mary Anne Whitfield Doster; two sons: Harold Wallace Doster and his wife Lucille of Troutman, NC, Phillip Doster and his wife Lynn of Wilkesboro, NC; two stepsons: Richard Davis of Nashville, TN, David Davis and his wife Cindy of Snellville, GA; one stepdaughter Pattie Clevenger and her husband Steve of Murfreesboro, TN one sister: Betty Conner and her husband Wayne of Orlando, FL; fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survives. Mr. Doster was preceded in death by his first wife: Doris M. Doster.

Mr. Doster wished to be cremated and a memorial service will be held January 3, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with the Rev.
