Harold William Harris, age 84, of Lavonia, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born January 28, 1938, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Henry and Marietta (Stovall) Harris. He worked as a supervisor at the Varsity in Atlanta, for many years, and later retired from Milliken & Company, where he worked as a maintenance technician. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Harris loved spending time in nature.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Frances (Pless) Harris; daughter: Vickie Harris; son: William Harris; sister: Violet Walters; and brothers: Larry Harris, Rufus Harris, and Bobby Lee Harris.
He is survived by his son: Brad Harris; brother: Shuratt Harris; sister: Gloria Ann Whitfield; grandchildren: Scottie Englin (Michelle), Matthew Harris, Holly Harris, Lacey Abercrombie, and Angel Harris; great-grandchildren: Julien Englin, Waverly Englin, Isaiah Eason Harris, Wayne Farley, Mya Thornton, and Amberly Harris; and great-great-granddaughter: Mariana Englin.
The cryptside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. Entombment will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses.
