Mr. Harold Lloyd Crocker, 89, of Lavonia, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at his home.
Born February 27, 1929 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Clarence Brown and Myrtle (Frazeur) Crocker. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Before retirement he was a butcher with Kroger. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter: Peggy Belcher of Riverdale; son: Doug Crocker of Atlanta; daughter-in-law: Maryanne Crocker of Fayetteville; siblings: Hilda Littlejohn, Doris Haynes & C.B. and Lucille Garrett; grandchildren: Travis Ramsaur (Katrina), Jason Battles (Chanda), Melanie Price (Jason), Keith Crocker (Jackie), Amanda Hurtt (Ryan); great grandchildren: Finn, Chase, Kayla, Nathan, Alina and Hannah and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Beatrice (Garrett) Crocker; son: Greg Crocker; sister & brother-in-law: Emma & James Barnett; and brother: Howard Crocker.
The funeral service will be held4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce McGee officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park with honors provided by the US Navy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in memory of Mr. Crocker to St. Jude's Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org.
