Mr. Harold B. Stone, 97, of Beacon Light Road, Hartwell, died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born on November 25, 1916 in Hartwell GA, he was a son of the late Ruben Samuel Stone and Fannie Lily White Stone.He was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company & Strickland Furniture Company and was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons: Larry A. Stone and his wife Irene of Greenville SC. and Hugh D. Stone and his wife Becky of Canon; one sister: Maryree Thompson of Hartwell; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and twenty one great great grandchildren also survive.He was preceded in death by his wife: Belle Baker Stone; a son: Clifford Stone; two brothers: Bernice Stone, and Jim Stone; four sisters: Gladys Brown, Imogene Davis, Rosa Dean, and Elease Byrum and one grandson; Harold Van Stone.

Funeral services will be Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ron Suttles, and Pastor Adam Stone officiating.Entombment will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home of his granddaughter, Melissa Stone, 3288 Liberty Hill Church Road, Hartwell.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson SC 29621.
