Mr. Charles Harrison Stallings, 85, of 145 Cleveland Ave., Hartwell, died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Hart Co. Hospital.
Born on October 16, 1921 in Temple, GA, he was the son of the Charlie Eugene Stallings and Georgia Gertrude Duncan Stallings.He retired from Sewell Manufacturing Company, where he worked in quality control.He was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, Sojourners and the Wallace White Sunday School Class.He was a WW II U. S. Navy veteran, serving in the Pacific theater.
Survivors include two daughters: Rebecca S. Lunsford of Norcross GA and Jan S. Banks of Lavonia; three grandchildren: Robert Banks, Jamie L. Brys and John Lunsford; two great-grandchildren: Kristen Banks and Carter Banks also survive.He was preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy Steed Stallings, a son: Charles Davis Stallings; three brothers: Earl Stallings, Carl Stallings and Tom Stallings and three sisters: Sara Ferguson, Louise Smith and Allene Vinke.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Dr. Allen Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall.
