Mr. Harry Elmer Rowland, 87, of Hartwell, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021 at home with family beside him.

Born on April 23, 1934 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Elmer & Lucy Snow Rowland. Harry worked for the US Postal Service for 28 years as a rural mail carrier. After retirement, he enjoyed family yard sales and auctions. Mr. Rowland was of the Baptist faith.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughter: Cheryl Rowland of Hartwell; son: Harry Rowland of Hartwell; companion for many years: Brenda Canady of Hartwell; two sisters: Grace Smith of Anderson, SC and Patricia Harbin of Fountain Inn, SC; five grandchildren: Allyson, Amie, Corey, Mallory, Kalen; and a number of great grandchildren. Mr. Rowland is preceded in death by his parents; brother: Clay Rowland; and two sisters: Jan Herring and Modena Dyar.

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mr. Harry Rowland will be held Monday, December 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Northview Cemetery.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 53 Rock Dr, Toccoa, GA 30577.
