Mr. Charles Harry Strickland Jr., 67, of North Myrtle Beach SC, formerly of Woodstock GA and Hartwell GA passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at his home.

Born on October 29, 1956 in Anderson SC, he was the son of the late Charles Harry Strickland Sr. and Barbara Howard Strickland.

Harry was a graduate of University of Georgia, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Education.  After graduation he worked briefly at the family owned Otasco store in Hartwell.  He then went on to receive his Masters and Specialist Degrees in Health/PE and Administration at University of North Georgia. He spent most of his professional career teaching and coaching at Etowah High School, Woodstock GA. He taught AP physics and loved his students and was an assistant Basketball Coach, assistant Football Coach and Head Tennis Coach. He was named Teacher of Year several times. Harry was an avid Tennis player and of the Baptist faith.

Survived by his sister: Karen Brown and her husband Steve of Bradenton FL; his brother: Howard Strickland and his wife Jenny of Calhoun GA; a three nephews: Mark Brown and his wife Jill, Nathaniel Strickland and Daniel Strickland and a great nephew: Alex Brown and a great niece: Alaura Brown.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 1, 2024 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.

Funeral services for Mr. Harry Strickland will be Friday, March 1, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Howard Strickland officiating.  Burial will be in the Northview Cemetery.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
