Mrs. Helen Romanowski Thatcher Beneigh, 90, of 45 Walnut St, Hartwell GA, died Saturday, August 8 at Hart County Hospital.
Born on July 5, 1919 in Harrison NJ, she was the daughter of the late Antoni Romanowski and Bridget Bujko Romanowski.She was retired from Western Electric, Union NJ, with 30 years of service, where she was a Quality Control Technician.She worked as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, the Hart County Clothes Closet and was a member of the Friendship Force for one year.She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Hartwell.
Survivors include her sister, Genevieve Hayes of Parsippany NJ; sister-in-law, Alexia Roman of Macon; three stepchildren, Barine Beneigh Postage, Ginny Beneigh McGeorge and Ted Beneigh; a close friend, Lyle Roland of Hartwell also survives.She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Justin Thatcher and William A. Beneigh and a sister, Jennie Krasnitski.
A funeral mass will be Tuesday, August 11 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Walter Foley officiating.Mrs. Beneigh wished to be cremated after her funeral mass..
