Mrs. Helen Corrado Brandeburg, 83, of Smith Street, Hartwell, passed away Monday, September 9, 2019 at her home.
Born on November 12, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Carlo Corrado, Sr. and Lucy Haverly Corrado.Mrs. Brandeburg was a retired bookkeeper and homemaker. She was also an active member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Mrs. Brandeburg is survived by one son: Joseph Brandeburg, III of Hartwell; two daughters: Patricia Kellum of Bowman, GA and Kathryn Millets of Dacula, GA; five sisters: Dorothy Renhack of Islip, NY, Vera Cocciardi of Woodstock, GA, Kathleen Goroly of Hartwell, Lorraine Armstead of Patchoque, NY, and Doris Jimolka of Spring Hill, FL; one brother: Keith Corrado of Sebring, FL; and two grandchildren: Christian Millets and Anthony Brandeburg. Mrs. Brandeburg is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Joseph Brandeburg, Jr.; three sisters: Barbara Nagy, Rita Sweat, and Jean Hoppe; and one brother: Carlo Corrado, Jr.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.
A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Rafael Castaño and Deacon Barry Phillips officiating. Helen wished to be cremated after her Mass and her ashes interred in the Sacred Heart Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 1009 Benson Street, Hartwell, GA 30643.
