Mrs. Helen Sheriff Chitwood, age 92 of 55 Liberty Circle, Hartwell, GA., died Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Hart County Hospital.

Born January 27, 1915 in Franklin County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Matthew Sheriff and Mae Smith Sheriff.She was retired from Hartwell Mills, and was a member of Mt. Olivet Church of God.

Her survivors include:Daughter, Shelby Bratcher and her husband, Joel of Hartwell, GA; Sister in law, Carol Chitwood of Hartwell, GA; Sister, Barbara Prince of Elberton, GA; Three grandchildren, Cindy Woodall, Brian Chitwood and Brent Chitwood.She is preceded in death by parents, Husband, Clifford "O'Neal" Chitwood; Son, Herman Chitwood; Brothers, I.J. Sheriff and J.D. Sheriff; Sisters, Louise Hudson and Margie Roling.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Wayne Durden and Rev. J. B. Kitts officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
