Mrs. Helen Crawford Hembree, 86, of Crabapple Ct, Calhoun, GA, formerly of Hartwell, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at Gordon Hospital in Calhoun, GA.

Born on June 29, 1931 in Elberton, GA, she was the daughter of the late H. Omer Crawford and Mamie Sanders Crawford.Mrs. Hembree was a homemaker and former employee of the TMR School.She also was member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell and a former member of the Pine Tree Garden Club.

Survivors include her daughter: Michelle Hembree Nesbit and Stuart Nesbit both of Calhoun; two grandchildren: Chandler and McCrea Nesbit; sister-in-law: LaDon Hix of Hartwell; four nieces: Revonda Hix Wood, Betsi Neal, Judy Rogers, Marilyn Younginer; seven nephews: Linder Brown, Dennis Partain, Mike Partain, Alton Barton, Cleve Barton, Hugh Edward Crawford and Billy Crawford. Mrs. Hembree was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: John Carey Hembree; four sisters: Alma Neal, Martha Partain, Ruby Sayer, Frances Barton; and two brothers: H.O. Crawford, Jr. and Alton Crawford.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Hugh Kirby officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
