Mrs. Helen LaRose Akins Hornick, 80, of Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at AnMed Medical Center, Anderson SC.

Born on August 8, 1944 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Lee Akins and Bertha Jorden Akins.  Helen was a retired hairdresser.

Survivors include one son: Ron Hornick, one daughter: Lisa Davis (Jamey) all of Hartwell; and one granddaughter: Shelley Gholson of St. Louis MO. Mrs. Hornick was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Ronald W. "Ron" Hornick.

Helen wished to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held by the family.

The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
