Obituary

Mrs. Helen Savannah Mitchell King, age 90, of 261 Fairview Avenue, Hartwell, former resident of the Shoal Creek Community, Lavonia, died Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Hart Care Center.
Born in Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late James Henry and Rosa Dodd Mitchell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband: Willard Fred King, two sisters: Ina Mitchell and Marjorie McCall, and five brothers: Denver, Taft, Nolan, Hershel, and Clyde "Jimmy" Mitchell. She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 16 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family is at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Franks and Mr. and Mrs. Frederick McCall in the Shoal Creek Community.
