Obituary

Mrs. Mary Helen Herring Milford, 79, of Liberty Hill Church Road, Hartwell, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the St. Mary's Hospice House in Watkinsville, GA.

Born on April 26, 1935 in Hartwell, she was the daughter of the late Willie Parker Herring and Amy Foster Herring. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Milford was a farmer with a chicken operation and a former dairy farmer.She was a devoted member of the Sardis Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, cook in the kitchen and a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.Mrs. Milford also was a member of the Elberton Granite Squares.

Survivors include her husband: Charles E. Milford; three sons: Mike Milford and his wife Kathy, Mark Milford and his wife Becky, and Tim Milford and his wife Sandra all of Hartwell; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one brother: Ralph Herring also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sardis Baptist Church with the Rev. John Silver and Rev. Jerry Chitwood officiating.Burial in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Friday evening 6:00 to 8:00 pm.The family is at the home.Flowers are optional memorials may be made to the Sardis Baptist Church Building Fund, 4359 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell, GA30643.
