Obituary
Mrs. Helen Georgia Herzog Smith, 102, of 131 Helwall Road, Iva, SC, died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Exalted Health & Rehab in Iva, SC.
Born on July 28, 1910 in North Bergen, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Edward Herzog and Georgia Peters Herzog.She was a homemaker, a member of the Rancocas Bassett Hound Club, the Berkshire Valley Bassett Hound Club, and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Mrs. Smith is survived by several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Smith; four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Rafael Castano officiating.Entombment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Anderson, SC.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night.The family is at their respective homes.In lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 1019 Benson Street, Hartwell, GA.
