Obituary
Mrs. Helen Hines Thornton, 94, of Harbor Point, Hartwell, died Monday, June 11, 2012 at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston.
Born in Atlanta, GA on May 17, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Henry Hines and Georgie Thompson Hines.Before moving to Hartwell, Mrs. Thornton retired from Simmons Mattress Manufacturing in Atlanta.She was a member of Douglasville First Baptist Church and attended Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartwell.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Debbie Thornton of Hartwell, GA; three grandchildren: David Thornton, Jonathan Thornton, and Amber Castleberry; three great-grandchildren: Ella Beth Castleberry, Landon Castleberry, and Porter Castleberry.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carter Thornton; and two sons: Don Thornton and Joseph Thornton.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date by the family.In lieu of flowers, special memorials in memory of Mrs. Thornton can be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1543 Anderson Highway, Hartwell, GA30643.
