Margaret Helen Simmons Turner, age 84, formerly of Lavonia, widow of Charles Turner, Sr., passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Hope Center Memory Care in Fayetteville.
Born January 15, 1937 in Attalia, AL, she was the daughter of the late James Lewis and Mary Galloway Simmons. Before retirement Mrs. Turner in the accounting department for the Fulton County Board of Education. She was a member of Lavonia First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Charles H. Turner, Jr. & Kim and Richard A. Turner & Mary Jo all of Fayetteville; grandchildren: Cole Turner, Dakota Turner and Shiloh Turner; and a brother: Billy Ray Simmons of California. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sibling: James L. Simmons, Nona Lee Howard, Audrey Bellew, Kathleen Rigsby and Virginia Simmons.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2021 at Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. Flowers are optional or memorials in memory of Helen can be made to Lavonia First Baptist Church P.O.
