Mrs. Sara Helen (Williford) White, age 81, of Lavonia, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Hart Care Center.
Born May 1, 1934, in Lavonia, she was the daughter of the late Llewellyn and Catherine (Isbelle) Williford. Prior to retirement she worked as an accountant and bookkeeper for Collins & Aikman and Moore's Paving Company. She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church in Hartwell. Mrs. White was a strong woman of great faith, which she displayed during a forty year struggle with arthritis. She was very loving and will be remembered for her generosity and kindness.
She is survived by her daughter: Patricia E. White and her partner Liz Shone; special nephew Woody Hamby his wife Kim and son Charlie; sister & brother-in-law: Sue & Ben Allen; sisters-in-law: Annette Williford and Ann Williford; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: H. Jerome White; son: Stephen J. White; brothers: Jack Williford and Sam Williford; and sisters: Wilma Yeargin and Kathy Hamby.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Cross Roads Baptist Church with Rev. Sean Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the North East Georgia Animal Shelter, 870 Bear Creek Road, Lavonia, GA 30553.
