Mrs. Henrietta Walters Roper, 98, of 731 N. Forest Ave., Hartwell, died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Hart County Hospital.

Born on January 26, 1913 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Amos Walters and Pearl Walters. She was a retired CNA at Hartwell Health Care and Hart County Hospital and of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by her son: Carlton J. Roper of Hartwell; one brother: Harvey Walters of Isle of Palms; four sisters: Janie Baker of Anderson, SC, Mary Ann Marsh of Columbia, SC, Sue Boyer of Anderson, Alma Brock of Anderson; one grandchild: Todd Roper; three great grandchildren: Taylor Roper, Payton Roper, and Kelsey Roper. Mrs. Roper was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Rainey C. Roper; one brother: Alford Walters; and two sisters: Emily Brock and Edith Vickery.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Silver officiating. Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.The family is at the home of Carlton Roper.Memorials may be made out to Sardis Baptist Church Building Fund, 4359 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell, GA 30643.
