Mr. Henry J. Johnson, Jr., age 90 of 1167 Old Andersonville Road, Hartwell, GA, died Sunday, August 09, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospice House, Athens.
Born October 12, 1918 in Lakeland, GA, he was the son of the late Henry J. Johnson, Sr. and Ethel Gary Johnson.He was a retired Policeman from the City of Jacksonville, FL.He was a member of F.O.P. in Jacksonville, FL and a WWII U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran and served in the Pacific Theater.
He is survived by:Son, Ken Johnson and his wife Carlene of Snellville, GA; Daughter, Carol Boorn and her husband Bruce of Hartwell, GA; Sister, Ola Mae Douglas of Jacksonville, FL; Three grandchildren, Lori Reinhart, Ashley Johnson and Scott Johnson; Great grandchildren, Devon Reinhardt, Haley Reinhardt and Chase Reinhardt.He is preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Charlotte Isabel White Johnson; Sister, Louise Gray and a grandchild, Timothy Boorn.
Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home Hartwell Chapel.Dr. R. Allen Stewart will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.The family is at the home of Carol & Bruce Boorn, 1167 Old Andersonville Road, Hartwell.Memorials may be made to Hartwell First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Howell Street, Hartwell, GA30643.
