Mr. Dewey Herbert "Herby" Beggs Jr, 75, of Canon, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at his home.

Born on September 15, 1949, in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late Dewey Herbert Beggs Sr. and Geneva Hilley Beggs.  Mr. Beggs graduated from the University of Georgia Business School, and was the founder of Beggs Farm Supply. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church, where he was an Elder, Sunday School teacher, Greeter and former Choir member.

Survivors include his wife: Carol Holbrook Beggs of Canon; son: Jonathan D. "Jon" Beggs (Cindy) of Hartwell; three grandchildren: Lindsay, Ryan, and Jamie Beggs, all of Hartwell; and one sister: Lynn B. Martin of Bowersville.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mr. Herby Beggs will be Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at the Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Buchanan officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
