Mr. Herman Lee Bruce, 80, of 3924 Airline-Goldmine Road, Canon, died peacefully Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born on December 1, 1932 in Franklin Springs, GA, he was the son of the late Henry Grady Bruce and Ina Mae Woodall Bruce.He was retired from Johnson and Johnson where he worked as a forklift operator and custodian.Mr. Bruce was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his two sons: Ricky Bruce and his wife Debbie of Hartwell, Michael Bruce of Canon; two daughters: Joyce Garrett of Royston, Debra Robertson and her husband Donnie of Royston; five grandchildren: Tiffany Reed, Amanda Veal, Kayla Wilson, Aaron Robertson, and Gabriel Bruce; and eight great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ruby Nell Carter Bruce; two brothers: Gene Bruce and William Bruce; and one sister, Peggy Roach.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Adam Veal and Rev. Dan Bailey officiating.Burial will be in the Bowers Memorial Cemetery in Canon.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday. The family is at the home of Ricky and Debbie Bruce, 377 Norman Road, Hartwell, GA.
