Mr. George Herman Isom, 77, of Reed Creek Hwy, Hartwell, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025 at his home.

Born on March 18, 1948 in Royston GA, he was the son of the late James Herman Isom and Mattie Emma Hill Isom.  Herman formerly worked at Hartwell Mills, laid Brick and Block and was the owner/operator of Herman Isom Used Cars for over 30 years.  He also loved Dirt Track Racing and providing wrecker service for both Hartwell and Lavonia Speedways.

Survivors include his four children: Lori Isom of Hartwell, Betsy Moore (Steven) of Toccoa, Lewis Isom of Hartwell and Tommy Ramey of Royston; his companion & best friend: "Ole Blue"; a brother: Jerry M. Isom (Ann) of Hartwell; a sister: Doris I. Goforth of Ferguson NC; four grandchildren: April Kidd, Ray Outz, Kayla Chancey and Grace Moore and two great-grandchildren: Weslyn Chancey and Wilder Chancey also survive.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mr. Herman Isom will be Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
