Mr. Herman Edward Temple, 89, of Liberty Hill Road, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Hart Care Center, Hartwell.

Born on March 19, 1926 in Hartwell GA, Mr. Temple was the son of the late Alex Temples and Alice Nixon Temples.Mr. Temple was a retired Bus Driver for the Hart County School System, where he drove for forty one and a half years and a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church.He was also an avid hunter, member of the Northeast Georgia Fox Hunters Association, North Georgia Beagle Club and was a WW II U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 128th Infantry Company in the Pacific Theater.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years: Ann Heaton Temple; a son: Vic Temple and his companion Sherry Goddard of Hartwell; three daughters: Shelby T. Tomlinson, Beth T. Starrett and her husband Dennis and Donna T. Kotal and her husband Danny all of Hartwell; a brother: Curtis Temples of Hartwell; five grandchildren: Jason Tomlinson, Travis Tomlinson, Isaac Temple, Jantzen Starrett Carter and Dillon Kotal; eight great-grandchildren: Ella Lake and Lailan Carter; Ryleigh, Jackson and Kholby Tomlinson; Ciara, Kale and Kacen Temple also survive.Mr. Temple was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers: John, James Bud, Floyd, Ralph, Madison, Alex Jr. and George Temple and five sisters: Ina Mae McDowell, Belle Evans, Willie Adams, Montine Broome and Grace Vassar.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Meeks officiating.Entombment will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at the home. Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church Building Fund, 1543 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell GA 30643.
