Mr. Heyward Cullen Richardson, 86, of 1213 Whippoorwill Trail, Hartwell, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at his home.
Born on June 15, 1926 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Cullen Richardson and Nina Suit Richardson Burden.He was a retired truck driver for the Merle Corporation, a farmer, a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church and a WW II U S Army veteran, serving in the European Theater.
Survivors include two sons: Michael Richardson and his wife Lisa of Elberton, Ronald Richardson and his wife Donna of Hartwell; three daughters: Gloria Christian of Elberton, Lydia Strong and her husband Nolan of Elberton, and Mary Beth Focer of Hartwell; fourteen grandchildren: Christopher Richardson, Brian Richardson, Timothy Richardson, Michael-joe Richardson, Casey Richardson, Kevin Strong, Jeremy Strong, Andy Christian, Tommy Christian, Kim Leonard, Leslie Richardson, Jamie Richardson, Thomas Van Epp and Jessica Van Epp and seven great-grandchildren, Anna Richardson, Katie Richardson, Madison Richardson, Kinsley Richardson Strong, Caroline Leonard, Eric Leonard also survive.Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June Helen Willis Richardson and two brothers: Lloyd Richardson and James Richardson.
Graveside services will be Friday, March 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. Friday prior to the service.The family is at their respective homes.
