Mr. Homero Rodrigo Morales, 58, of Gloria Street, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Born on March 13, 1965 in Poxtla Xilitla, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, he was the son of Micaela Gonzales Mendoza and the late Homero Morales. Mr. Morales was the former owner and cook for the Rios Mexican Restaurant.

Survivors include his mother: Micaela Gonzales Mendoza; wife: Susana Morales Hernandez of Hartwell; two sons: Steve & Eliceo Morales; five brothers: Javier, Daniel, Miguel, Ramiro, and Thomas Morales; and three sisters: Maria, Micaela, and Margarita Morales.

Homero wished to be cremated and the family will receive friends Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. At other times, the family will be at the home. Mr. Morales will be cremated following the visitation.

The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
