Mr. James Horace Brown, Jr. 69, of Bowman Hwy Royston, died Monday March 3, 2014 at Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens, GA.

Born on December 3, 1944 in Elberton, GA, he was the son of the late James Horace Brown, Sr. and Bessie Irene Brown Brown.He was of the Baptist faith. He was a US Army Veteran serving two tours in Vietnam.

Survivors include, one brother Ed Brown and wife Fay of Royston, Ga. and one sister, Mary Elizabeth Collins and husband Charles of Danielsville, GA. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by one brother, George Brown and two sisters, Rosie Guest and Myrtle Phillips.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 6, 2014, 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Bobby Maxwell officiating.Burial will be in the Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The family are at the home of Ed and Fay Brown 3596 Bowman Hwy, Royston, Ga.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to defray funeral and medical cost.
