Mr. William Howard "Shade" McGee, Jr., age 75, of Canon, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Cobb Memorial Hospital.
Born July 19, 1935, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late William Howard McGee, Sr. and Mildred Bailey McGee. Mr. McGee was parts manager for many years with Meredith Chevrolet and retired from Bulkliner Feed Trailers. Mr. McGee was a member of the Moose Lodge # 352 and Lavonia United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Linda Bellamy McGee of the home; sons: James McGee of Williamston, SC, Carey Craft of Canon, and Kelly McGee of Carnesville; daughters: Janet Adams of Piedmont, SC, Kim Gerding of Canon, and Chrystal Ayers of Lavonia; brother: Kermit McGee of Canon; sister: Beverly Vaughn of Bowersville; 13 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
