Mr. Charlie Howard Sanders, 78, of Homestead Road, Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at his home.

Born on December 24, 1937, in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Charlie P. Sanders and Myra Sanders Sanders.Mr. Sanders was retired machine operator from Tenneco Automotive Equipment Co. He was a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church where he was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class, former usher, Brotherhood and a deacon.Mr. Sanders was a former member of the Bio Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Barbara Yeargin Sanders; two daughters: Gail King (Ronnie) of Canon, Vickie Brown (Johnny) of Hartwell; three brothers: Broughton Sanders of Canon, Frank Sanders, Harvey Sanders both of Hartwell; two sisters: Faye Buchanan of Hartwell, and Libby Andrews of Dewy Rose; two great-grandchildren: Kinzley Faith Robinson, Braydon Scott; and a special friend of the family Katie McCollum.Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother: Willie Owens Sanders.

Funeral services will be Friday, October28, 2016, 3:00 pmthe Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Wendell Bannisterand Rev. Johnny Ashworth officiating.Entombment will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service.The family is at the home.Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Flat Shoals Baptist Church, 2999 Bowersville Hwy., Bowersville, GA30516.
