Mr. Charles Howard Sanders, age 93 of Hartwell GA, died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at his home.

He was born March 5, 1916 in Hart County, GA to the late Mead and Rachael Scott Sanders.He was the husband of the late Edith Estes Sanders for 68 years.He was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company and a member of Flat Shoals Baptist Church.He was a U.S. Army Veteran and very patriotic. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors.He and his wife enjoyed many happy years at their lake home on Broad River, along with their beloved dog ~ Spot.

He is survived by his Daughters and sons in law, Peggy and John T. Price, Barbara Cox, Judy and Terrell Partain; Six grandchildren, Dale Price and friend Teresa Elrod, Jan Jordan and friend Marty Welborn, Debra Ethridge, Marty Clark and his wife Anna, Mickey Chatham, Terri Partain and friend, Hunter Breland; Six great grandchildren, Cody Price, A.J. and Kinsey Ethridge, Macon Clark and his wife Kayla, LeeAnna Clark, Charlie Chatham; Great great grandson, Hunter Rollins.He loved and adored each of his children and all grandchildren.He is also survived by his sister in law Louise Sanders.He was preceded in death by Sisters, Myra Sanders and Frances Ginn and Brothers, Leon and Owen Sanders.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Eddie Simmons and Rev. Lonnie Bennett officiating.Burial will be at Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Grandsons, Dale Price, Cody Price, Charlie Chatham, Mickey Chatham, Marty Clark and Macon Clark as pallbearers.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Monday night from 7 – 9:00 p.m.The family would appreciate memorials be made to the Andrew Carlton Fund, c/o Macedonia United Methodist Church, 3961 Airline-Goldmine Road, Canon, GA30520.
