Mr. Howell C. Holland, age 72 of 1869 Oakcrest Drive, Hartwell, Ga., died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House, Anderson, S.C.

Born July 6, 1935 in Hart County, he was the son of the late Lawson Howell and Grace McLesky Howell. He was a self employed Plumber and Electrician. He was a member of the Reed Creek Baptist Church and attended Price Chapel Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife: Inez Lawrence Holland of the home; sons: Steve Holland and his wife Pattie of Hartwell GA and Doug Holland of Hartwell GA: a daughter: Donna Fowler and her husband Chris of Hartwell of GA; a brother: Ray Holland of Canon GA; sisters: Hazel Holland of Royston GA, and Loy Baker of Hartwell, GA; grandchildren: Josh Fowler, Scarlett Howell, Kristen Holland and Nicolas Holland and two great-grandchildren: Bailey Mitchell and Jacob Fowler. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandchild: Keri Holland and sister: Ruby Bannister.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hartwell Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Rev. Johnny Stowe and Mr. Fred Greenway will officiate. Burial will be at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell Chapel Saturday evening 6 to 8 p.m. The family will be at the home.
