Obituary
Mr. Hoyt Linton Gurley, Jr., age 80, of Lavonia, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Hartwell Healthcare Center.
Born March 6, 1929, in Hart County, he was the son of the late Hoyt Linton Gurley, Sr. & Gladys (Bailes) Dollar. He retired after 38 years of faithful civil service.
He is survived by wife: Sarah Crisler Gurley; daughters and sons-in-law: Marie & Ernie Dawkins of Lavonia and Hope & Jones Beasley of Lavonia; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009 at Macedonia Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
