Mr. William Hoyt Harbin, age 80, of Lavonia, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Pruitt Health of Toccoa.
Born December 16, 1934, in Carnesville, he was the son of the late George Ellis & Annie Ruth (Batey) Harbin. He worked for Tenneco in maintenance as a trouble Shooter. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law: William Arnold & Kathy Harbin of Lavonia; grandchildren: Holly Marie Harbin & Jonathon Jones; brother & sister-in-law: Harold & Susan Harbin of Lavonia; sister & brother-in-law: Hazel (Harbin) & Richard Smith of Hartwell; and close companion: Jane Brown of Hartwell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son: Johnny Ellis Harbin; and brothers: Howard Harbin & Herbert Harbin.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Renfro & Mr. Fred Greenway officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Harbin to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
