Mr. Hubert Lee Isom, 80, of Old Hwy 29, Hartwell, died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at his home.

Born on April 28, 1932 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Lawson Isom and Minnie Hembree Isom.He retired from Tenneco Auto Equipment Company as a machine operator with 40 years of service.Mr. Isom was a member of the Oak Bower Baptist Church, a trustee, deacon and a member of the choir. He was a former Sunday School teacher, Lay Speaker and served of various committees.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Lunsford Kotal Isom, a step-son, Jerry Kotal and his wife Christy of Elberton; a brother, Dewey Isom of Elberton, a sister, Carol Milford of Hartwell; two step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.Mr. Isom was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Ann Fray Davis Isom; two brothers, Kenneth Isom and Harry Isom and three sisters, Melvia Wilson, Eunice Harper and Faye Wicker.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Tommy Cleveland and Rev. Ray Black officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.The family is at the home.In lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to Oak Bower Baptist Church Building Fund, 1589 Old Hwy 29, Hartwell GA30643.
