Mr. Hugh Dorsey "Pete" Boles, 87, of Old Hwy 29, Hartwell, GA, died Wednesday, January 10, 2008 at Hart County Hospital.

Born on May 1, 1920 in Elbert Co. GA, he was the son of the late Clarence Spear Boles Sr. and Rosa Lee Manning Boles. He retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company working in the Quality Control Department.He was a member of the Oak Bower Baptist Church, Senior Adult SS Class and a former assistant SS teacher.

Survivors include his wife: Avis Elton Bailey Boles of the home; two sons: Hugh Leslie Boles of Lavonia, GA and Rev. Paul Edgar Boles of Charleston, SC; four grandchildren: Lance Parker Boles, Landy Champion Boles, Paul Michael Boles and Jonathan William Boles; two great grandchildren, Madelyn Grace "Mattie" Boles and Soren Tucker Boles; Two sisters, Lula Mae Terry of Spartanburg, SC and Sally Alkansas Thacker of Anderson, SC;Mr. Boles was preceded in death by five brothers: Ernest Boles, Walter Lee Boles, Grady Garrison Boles, Clarence Spear Boles Jr., Richard Boles and two sisters, Mamie Dutton and Mary Frances Parker.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 12 at 4:00 p.m. at the Oak Bower Baptist Church with Rev. Edgar Boles and Rev. Tommy Cleveland officiating Burial will in the Oak Bower Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body will be placed in the church at 3:00 p.m., where the family will receive friends from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers: memorials may be made to the Oak Bower Baptist Church, 1589 Old Hwy 29, Hartwell, GA30643.
