Mrs. Ida Stephens Weaver, 84, of Athens, formerly of Hartwell, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Piedmont Athens Medical Center, Athens, GA.
A longtime resident of Hartwell, born on October 30, 1934 in Cordele GA, she was the daughter of the late Linton Stephens and Frankie Williams Stephens.She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Weaver was an artist, lover of nature and a loving friend to many. She was a caretaker to both young and old. As a childcare provider she was a patient loving guide of life.She gave kindness, calm assurance to the elderly in her care.
Survivors include one son: James E. Weaver Jr; three daughters: Linda Weaver, Deborah Wilkerson and Susan Lumpkin; two brothers: Fred Stephens, Larry Stephens, and one sister: Dorothy Johnson.Mrs. Weaver was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband: James E. Weaver, Sr; one brother: Charles Stephens and one sister: Mattie V. Buffington.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at their respective homes.
Graveside services for Mrs. Ida Weaver will be held Friday, October 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Dr. R. Allen Stewart officiating.
Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
