Mrs. Ila Juanita Thomas, 54, of Lewis Dr., Lavonia, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens.
Born on May 22, 1962 in Ellijay, GA, she was the daughter of the late Buddy Lee Norton and Hazel Leigh Prince Norton.Mrs. Thomas was a home maker.
Survivors include one daughter: Melanie Sanders (Billy) of Hartwell; one brother: Dusty Davenport of Blairsville; one sister: Julie Norton (Mickey) of Cleveland, TN and three grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Carl Thomas.
A memorial service celebrating Ila's life will held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm at The Way Church with Rev. Mike Ream and Mr. Ricky Hix officiating.The family is at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to defray cremation expenses.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
