Mrs. Imogene Richardson Jordan, age 93, of 491 Athens Street, Hartwell Ga., died Thursday, October 19, 2006 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born August 27, 1913 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Richardson and Susie Brown Richardson. She was retired from Bailes-Cobb as a sales clerk, and was a former sales clerk at Gallant Belk. She was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, the Live Wire Sunday School Class, The May Lily McCurry UMW Circle, the Sojourners and Fellowship of Christian Seniors. She was also a member of the Hartwell Pilot Club and Credit Women International.
She is survived by: son, Charles H. Jordan and his wife Jennifer of Townville, S.C., daughter, Ann King and her husband Randall of Royston, Ga. Five grandchildren, Ronnie King, Carnesville, Ga., Gina Maxwell, Bowman, Ga., Melanie Leard, Opelika, AL., Rusty King, Royston, Ga., and Ben Jordan, Townville, S.C. Five great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Burchel Jordan, and by her brother, James P. Richardson and sister, Lillian R. Reynolds.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell Chapel. Dr. R. Allen Stewart and Rev. Jim Winn will officiate. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 1:30 until the hour of service at the funeral home on Friday. The family will be at their respective homes.
