Mrs. Inez (Bailey) Burgess, affectionately known as "Mima", age 97 of Lavonia, died Wednesday, June 18 at Stephens County Hospital.
Born December 16, 1910, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late John Pressley and Nancy Ida "Brown" Bailey. She was the last surviving member of 8 children. She worked for Carwood Manufacturing as an inspector. Mrs. Burgess was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she was very active until her failing health. She was a member of the TEL Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband: Tom Ed Burgess and a son-in-law Guy Ray Farr.
She is survived by her daughter: Betty "Burgess" Farr of Lavonia; granddaughter and grandson-in-law: Lydia Ann "Farr" Ethridge and Jeff, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Ross Layne and Rev. Chris Chitwood officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will be at residence, 1805 Gumlog Road and will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
