Mr. John Terry Blackston, 64, of Mr. John's Choice Road, Hartwell, died Sunday, January 5, 2014 at his home.

Born on October 18, 1949 in Greenville SC, he was the son of the late J.C. Blackston and Margaret Browning Blackston Pierce.Mr. Blackston was retired from Duke Energy, where he was a Line Crew Supervisor.He was a member of the Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Easley SC.

Survivors include his two son: Chris Blackston & his wife Mary of Piedmont SC and Chad Blackston & his wife Melissa of Easley SC; six grandchildren: Jessica Levi & her husband Jessie; Kayla, Brandon & Brooke Blackston and Codie & Dakota Owens; two great-grandchildren: Emma & Owen Levi; former wife and mother of his two sons: Gail Thompson Blackston Counts of Easley SC.Mr. Blackston was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Carol Ann Blackston Reeves.

Memorial services will be Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the Mt. Airy Baptist Church with Dr. Keith Shorter officiating. The family will receive friends after the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to the Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 210 Mt. Airy Church Road, Easley SC29642.
