Mr. James Monroe Fleming, 78, of 997 Bert Moorhead Road, Canon, died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Ty Cobb Memorial Hospital.
Born on February 21, 1933 in Hart County, he was the son of the late Union M. Fleming and Marjorie Kate Ginn Fleming.He was a local farmer and a member of Bethany Baptist Church where he served as a former R.A. and a Brotherhood Leader.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jenelle Crocker Fleming of the home; two sons: David Fleming and his wife, Susan, and Bobby Fleming and his wife, Pam, all of the Bethany Community; one sister: Mary Alice Bradford of Washington, GA; one sister-in-law: Betty Ruth Fleming; four grandchildren: Kellie & Stan Stoner; Melissa & Scottie Green; Christie Fleming; and Brian Fleming; and three great grandchildren: Kristen Fails, Alex Stoner, and Nash Green. Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother: Leroy Fleming.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Durham, Rev. Luther Thomason, and Rev. Benson Bottoms officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
