Mr. John William Jackson, 87, of Berryman Road, Hartwell, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016 at his home.
Born on November 2, 1928 in Dawsonville GA, he was the son of the late Howard Jackson, Jr. and Flonnie Majors Jackson.Mr. Jackson was a retired mechanic with Walton Co. Mill and of the Baptist faith.He was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean War.
Survivors include a niece whom he lived with Betty Jackson Tucker; one daughter: Crystal Knight; three step-daughters: Diann Stewart, Denise Edwards and Jennifer White; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren andseveral nieces and nephews.Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers: James T. Jackson, David Jackson, Charley Jackson, Jessie Jackson, Lawrence Jackson, Frankie Jackson, Edward Major Jackson; one sister: Della Mae Martin and one great-grandchild: Cain.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Hill Haven Memory Gardens in Monroe, GA.The family is at their respective homes.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
