Mr. James Harold Maret, 86, of 425 Melody Lane, Hartwell GA, died Sunday, June 21 at Hart County Hospital.

Born on March 18, 1923 in Hart Co. GA, he was the son of the late Wallace Maret and Mary Elizabeth Wilson Maret.He was retired Co-owner & operator of Maret Grain & Milling Co.He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, former deacon & member of the McDowell SS Class.He was a former farmer, former coach & treasurer with the Hart Co. Little League and a WWII US Army veteran, where he served in the European theater as an Anti-Aircraft Gunner.

Survivors include his wife, Janie White Maret of the home; son, Jimmy Maret and his wife Beth of Hartwell; two daughters, Nancy Theiling and her husband Vic of Atlanta and Lynn Harder and her husband Bobby of Bishop; five grandchildren, Sarah Frost, James Maret, Charles Theiling, John Maret and Matthew Harder; a brother, Herbert Maret of Hartwell also survives.Mr. Maret was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Brad Smith; three brothers, Hugh Maret, Monroe Maret and Bobbie Joe Maret and two sisters, Kate Vassar and Montez Fleming.

Funeral services will Tuesday, June 23 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Joe Black and Rev Scott Mize officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.The family is at the home.Memorials may be made to the Hart Co. Little League, 425 Melody Lane, Hartwell, GA30643.
